Requirements for laying cables within the pipe
Apr 26, 2018

1. Clay pipes, asbestos cement pipes or concrete pipes, etc. can be used for the row pipes. The inside of the pipes must be smooth.

2. According to the number of holes needed to arrange the pipe into a certain type, the joints of the arrangement of the pipes should be staggered and cemented into a whole; to determine the number of holes in the pipe, should consider the needs of future development, generally 2 holes, 4 holes, 6 holes, 9 holes and other types.

3. The diameter of the row tube should not be less than 1.5 times the outer diameter of the cable. The pipe laying power cables shall have an aperture not less than 100mm; the pipe laying control cables shall have an aperture not less than 75mm.

4. The distance from the top of the buried pipe underground to the ground should not be less than the following values: 200mm in the factory building; 500mm under the sidewalk; and 700mm in the general area.

5. Well pits (entrance holes) should be set at locations where the straight line distance exceeds 100m, and at the turns and branches of the pipe. The pit depth should not be less than 1.8m, and the pit diameter should not be less than 0.7m for ease of laying and Overhaul.

6. The row pipe leading to the pit should have an inclination of not less than 0.1% so that the water in the pipe flows into the pit.

7. When laying the cable in the row pipe, place the cable plate in the hole of the well, and use the wire rope passing through the hole of the row pipe to pull the cable into the hole of the pipe. In order to prevent the cable from being damaged, the nozzles of the pipes shall be covered with a smooth bell mouth. The pulleys at the pits shall be equipped with pulleys, and talcum powder or butter may be sprinkled on the cable surface to reduce friction.

8. The cables laid in the row pipes can be bare cables or plastic sheathed cables with reinforced lead packages but no armor.
